With the final stage of New York’s casino licensing process underway, the head of a state gaming committee now plans to hold hearings on Internet poker next year.
An online gambling law is not expected to be passed in New York until at least 2016, but Assemblyman Gary Pretlow last week said he plans to reintroduce a bill in 2015 and hold at least one legislative hearing on the topic.
“I’m not going to push it. The bill is for the future not for the present,” Pretlow, who serves as chair of his chamber’s racing and wagering committee, told GamblingCompliance.
