A Senate committee unanimously passed an online poker bill Tuesday, as lawmakers in New York renew efforts to legalize online poker in the Empire State.
The Senate Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee voted 11-0 to approve chairman John Bonacic’s internet poker bill. An identical bill passed by a 53-5 margin in the Senate last year, only to be declared dead in the Assembly.
Senate Bill 3898 authorizes the New York State Gaming Commission to issue 11 online poker licenses to racinos and commercial casinos that operate in the state.
