New Jersey Congressmen Urge Scrutiny Of Sports-Betting Ban

Two New Jersey congressmen plan to submit a letter urging the House Judiciary Committee to examine the federal law banning expanded sports betting, regardless of how the U.S. Supreme Court rules on the issue next year.

Republican Frank LoBiondo and Donald Norcross, a Democrat, are gathering signatures from fellow congressmen for a letter they plan to submit to leaders of the Judiciary Committee in the coming weeks, according to comments made by a member of LoBiondo’s staff on Wednesday.

The disclosure was made following an hour-long panel discussion on legalized sports betting hosted on Capitol Hill by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and independent think-tank Third Way.
