New Hampshire Governor Not Interested In Settling Lottery Lawsuit

Republican Governor Chris Sununu of New Hampshire has said he is not interested in negotiating an out-of-court settlement of his state’s lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for a reversal which could prevent sales of lottery tickets on the internet.

“We’re not looking for a settlement; we’re looking to win,” Sununu told GamblingCompliance on Saturday at the annual winter meeting of the National Governors Association (NGA) in Washington, D.C.

“New Hampshire is definitely leading the charge, not only because [the state’s lottery] is a driver economically for our state but we really live for those ‘Live Free or Die’ principles,” Sununu said, referring to the Granite State’s motto.
