The NSW Parliament has passed legislation to create a new, centralised gaming and liquor licensing and regulatory authority. The legislative change is also set to be followed by a reduction in the number of gaming machines permissible in Australia’s most populous state.The new NSW parliament has passed a Bill creating a new licensing and regulatory authority to be called the Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority. According to section 9 of the Bill, the new Authority will replace the Casino Control Authority and also assumes the licensing and other regulatory functions of the Licensing Court and the Liquor Administration Board.
