New Gambling Bill Clears Florida Senate

The Florida Senate's Regulated Industries Committee has approved a far-reaching Senate proposal to expand gambling across the state, bringing the prospect of a new Seminole gambling compact closer.The plan would give the Seminole Tribe fully-fledged casinos with roulette, craps and blackjack and other banked card games without betting limits. In return, a revenue-sharing agreement would see the tribe pay a minimum of more than $400m per year to the state, with up to 25 percent more payable depending on net win.
