A.G. Burnett’s decision to resign as Nevada’s top gaming official was not made so current Governor Brian Sandoval could appoint his successor before his term ends next year, the chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board said Tuesday.
“No. To tell you the truth, I hadn’t even thought of that,” Burnett told GamblingCompliance in a telephone interview from his office in Carson City.
Burnett said that family matters were the reason behind his decision to take a job with a law firm he once clerked for, giving his wife the option to decide if she will continue teaching.
