The legality of fantasy sports games should be reviewed more closely before licensed gambling companies enter the booming sector, according to the chairman of Nevada’s Gaming Control Board.
Legal uncertainties mean Nevada’s licensed gambling companies are wise to proceed with caution as they contemplate fantasy sports, gaming board chairman A.G. Burnett told GamblingCompliance on Thursday.
“We’re trying to analyze it and we want to work with our licensees in regards to anything they choose to do going forward,” Burnett said of fantasy sports.
“We need to all get on the same page as to its legality before we allow it to move forward, and there’s still a huge question mark there.”
