The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) on Wednesday unanimously recommended licensing approval for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment to become the first tribe to operate a commercial casino in Las Vegas.
The Connecticut-based company, owned by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, would operate the casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on the site of the former Hard Rock Las Vegas casino. The resort is expected to open on January 15.
