Montana’s governor has signed legislation authorizing the state’s lottery to deploy sports-betting kiosks at retail locations, while vetoing a separate bill that would permit private operators to do the same.
In a veto letter Friday, Governor Steve Bullock confirmed that he was signing House Bill 725 into law to allow for the Montana Lottery to add sports wagering to its line-up of games.
At the same time, the Democratic governor said he would not be allowing another bill, SB 330, to become law to establish a competing network of betting terminals operated by private gambling companies.
