Mississippi Casinos Not Expected To Offer Sports Betting Until August

With ten days left before sports-betting regulations take effect in Mississippi, the state’s top gaming regulator said he does not expect the state’s casino industry to be prepared to start accepting bets until the end of the month.

“July 21 would be the first possible date anyone could begin to taking wagers but I don’t think anyone will be ready on that day,” said Allen Godfrey, executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC). “But, there will be some that are very close behind that day.”
