Michigan Governor Opposed To Online Gaming Package In Current Form

Several months after outgoing Michigan Governor Rick Snyder vetoed an online gaming package over concerns about a loss of education revenue, representatives for his successor say that the new governor shares the same concerns.

At a House Ways and Means Committee hearing Thursday, officials from the State Budget Office (SBO) and the Department of Treasury said that Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s administration opposes pending legislation known as the Lawful Internet Gaming Act and several related bills in their current form.
