In a surprising move PRD Senators have come out in favour of casino reform, despite previous objections from their party to the close relationship between the PAN government and members of the Mexican gambling industry.
Mexico may have come one step closer to finding its gambling industry’s Holy Grail – the legalisation of casinos in the Latin American country. Members of the main opposition party – el Partido Revolucionario Democratico (PRD) – in the Senate have underlined that they now fully support moves to repeal casino prohibition and are in favour of a new gaming act to replace existing legislation dating back to 1947.
