Mayfair's Park Lane Club Fined Over AML Violations

The UK Gambling Commission has fined Silverbond Enterprises, operator of Park Lane Club in Mayfair, £1.8m for failings in social responsibility and money laundering.

Random checks of the top 250 customer accounts found a significant number had not been subject to enhanced due diligence checks, the commission said

The casino relied mostly on open-source or third-party providers for the customer checks, which were inadequate to meet required levels of scrutiny.

The casino's internal compliance team flagged the need to carry out enhanced checks on certain customers, but casino staff allowed them to keep gambling, the regulator said.
