A Las Vegas-based regional gaming company is buying six more house-banked card rooms in Washington state, as company executives continue to lobby lawmakers about the potential benefits of legal wagering on sports.
Maverick Gaming LLC’s most recent purchase was Wizards Casino in Burien, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. Earlier this month, the privately-held company acquired five casinos in the Evergreen State.
In both transactions, Maverick Gaming did not release the terms, but the two acquisitions will increase the number of card rooms it owns to 18.
