Macron Gives Green Light to FDJ Sale

France’s President Emmanuel Macron has given the go-ahead to proceed with privatising Française des Jeux (FDJ), the state-owned operator of France's national lottery games, ending weeks of uncertainty.

The French state currently owns 72 percent of FDJ and the sale of stakes greater than 50 percent in state-owned enterprises is contingent on amendments to the “Pact Law”.

These amendments are due to be discussed by the Council of Ministers on June 18, followed by a parliamentary discussion in September.
