Licence Hopefuls Must Discard Dutch Databases

- Existing Dutch customer databases must not be used once licences are issued
- Minister admits delays are possible, but claims government still on track
- Responsible gambling representatives need not be based in Netherlands
Every operator granted an online licence under the new Dutch regime will have to discard their old player databases and start from scratch, according to new government updates on draft secondary legislation.
Even those operators not frozen out of the market for a period because of their past activities will not be able to use any of the details they hold on Dutch customers once they get up and running in the licensing system.
