From Florida’s governor vetoing a lottery warning bill to lawmakers in New Jersey and Maine signing off on fantasy sports legislation and North Carolina approving casino nights, state politicians nationwide have been busy dealing with a wide range of gaming legislation.
In Florida, Republican Governor Rick Scott has vetoed legislation that would have required lottery games to come with a warning about the possible harm gambling can have on an individual.
House Bill 937 would have required the Florida Department of the Lottery to provide a specified warning in all of its advertisements and promotions, and mandate that lottery tickets come printed with a similar message.
