Many in the gaming industry have cited in-play betting as one of the most appealing aspects of the future of sports betting, but some key players in the industry differ on how much of a foothold the offering has in the present day.
David Rebuck, director of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), says that in-play wagering remains in its infancy stage in the United States' sports-betting landscape.
“Very little is available to patrons today where I would call pure in-play wagering like you see in foreign countries,” Rebuck said during a recent panel discussion at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas.
