A group of Kenyan politicians have implored the government to allow gambling firms barred from having their licences renewed to resume operations until an official investigation has taken place.
The 12 politicians from both houses of Kenya’s parliament made the joint announcement in the hope of preventing the further loss of government gambling tax revenue, they said.
Senator Cleophas Malala called on the government to undertake a thorough audit of the betting firms to get to the bottom of the Kenya Revenue Authority’s (KRA) claims that the likes of SportPesa and Betin are not fully tax compliant.
