With a federal judge’s ruling expected any day now, attorneys representing opponents of internet gambling are trying to intervene in a New Hampshire lawsuit by claiming the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is not doing enough to advocate their point of view.
Specifically, the DOJ has been insufficiently aggressive in asserting the U.S. Wire Act of 1961 prohibits the New Hampshire Lottery from selling tickets online, according to the May 23 motion filed by the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling (CSIG) and the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).
