Japan Considering Problem Gambling Law After Casino Go Ahead

The Japanese government is drafting legislation to meet public concerns about problem gambling just weeks after passing a bill to legalise integrated resort casinos in the country.

The new law, which could be introduced to the Diet later this month, is expected to require gambling operators, including municipal governments, to work on plans for toughening gambling regulations.

Possible measures suggested include allowing families to request bans on suspected addicts accessing gambling venues and restricting online purchases of horse betting tickets.
