Italian Police Arrest Executives From Malta-Licensed Live Dealer Service

Italian police claim to have uncovered a network of illegal gambling sites supplied by a Malta-based B2B operator, in a case that once again exposes the fractious relationship between the two countries.

According to reports in the Italian press, the directors of Malta-licensed live dealer service Medialive Casino — Massimiliano Fullin and Fabio Veglianetti — have been arrested as part of a Florentine police investigation. The duo stand accused of running a multi-million euro network of gambling terminals throughout the country.

The devices skirted Italy’s regulatory and tax regimes by connecting directly to live dealers in Malta and were often located in sports associations and other non-commercial outlets to avoid detection, according to reports.
