Irish Opposition Announces Plan For Online Deposit Restrictions

Legislation forcing gambling firms to bring in mandatory restrictions on customers’ online deposits in Ireland could be enacted, a leading lawmaker has said.

Jack Chambers, a Fianna Fáil TD involved in drafting the party's gambling bill, said he hoped that the move would be included in law.

The plan to effectively limit how much gamblers could lose follows calls earlier this month by the founder and former chief executive of Paddy Power for mandatory deposit restrictions to be put in place.
