Sweden-focused affiliates say they are struggling to gain a foothold in the country’s re-regulated market as compliance concerns and a saturated landscape drive away potential investors.
Small and medium-sized affiliates that had hoped to see increased growth and investor interest in their businesses following the re-regulation of the Swedish market on January 1, 2019 are now counting on the introduction of marketing restrictions to increase their value.
Speaking on a panel hosted by investment banking firm Redeye, Michael Holmberg, the CEO of affiliate and content marketing company Raketech, said that compliance requirements in regulated markets such as Sweden have all but killed one-man-band affiliates.
