Senior executives at this week’s BISL conference warned that a statutory levy would be imposed upon UK gambling operators unless contributions to the Responsibility in Gambling Trust (RIGT) are stepped up dramatically.Reflecting on the first two months since the implementation of the 2005 Gambling Act in September, Roy Ramm, compliance director for London Clubs International, praised the Gambling Commission’s “pragmatic and helpful” approach on a number of issues. However, Ramm lamented that one issue continued to dominate political debate surrounding the industry: problem gambling.
