As Governor Bob Riley’s anti-gambling crackdown intensifies and continues to threaten the state’s many bingo halls, industry leaders have called upon Alabama state lawmakers to respond with a legislative fix.
Speaking at the recent National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) gathering in Scottsdale, Arizona, Scott Milne, director of government affairs for leading machine supplier International Game Technology (IGT), urged Alabama lawmakers attending the event to take action in the regular house session, which commenced January 12, and enact new state legislation that might provide a “clear legal definition for electronic bingo”.
