Organisers of the mammoth ICE trade show have been forced to deny reports they will move the event from its home in London’s east end to Hanover, Germany, to avoid Brexit complications.
In a statement issued late on Monday, events company Clarion said it was responding to chatter on social media and a small number of news stories claiming the show would flee to Germany to dodge the side effects of the UK’s exit from the EU.
Kate Chambers, Clarion Gaming’s managing director, said that ICE was contracted to remain at the ExCeL convention centre in London’s Docklands until at least 2022.
“ICE London is experiencing the most successful period in its history," she said.
