Sports betting is officially up and running in Pennsylvania in one casino, and several others are expected to begin posting odds and accepting wagers in the coming weeks.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racetrack in Grantville won the race to be the first sportsbook to open its doors, receiving final approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) following two successful testing days, and opening on Tuesday.
The company formed a partnership with William Hill US to open a physical and online sportsbook. The online sportsbook has yet to be launched.
Four other casinos have received sports-betting licenses from the PGCB: SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Parx Casino in Bensalem, Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester, and Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.
