GVC Holdings' chief executive has said the company is holding “many, many” talks about US partnerships and that investors can expect “big, bold, aggressive” plans.
GVC, the rapidly growing online gambling operator that has swallowed up Ladbrokes Coral, Sportingbet and Bwin.Party over the past few years, has plans for the newly opened US sports-betting market that are ambitious but flexible — a “blank bit of paper”, according to CEO Kenneth Alexander.
“Whatever we announce, it’s going to be big, it’s going to be bold, it’s going to be aggressive,” he told analysts on Friday.
The bullish comments about GVC’s prospects in the United States came as the company reported that online gains helped offset a decline in UK retail.
