Greece's Stoiximan Debuts In Portugal

Greek bookmaker Stoiximan has become the latest operator to try its luck in the heavily taxed Portuguese online market.

At a launch event this week in Athens, Stoiximan executives reported positive signs from its rollout in the Portuguese online market, which began on May 7.

Portugal has become the sixth licensed market after Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Austria and Romania for Stoiximan’s parent Game Tech Group, with the company using its international Betano brand for online sports betting and casino.

Giorgos Daskalakis, co-founder and CEO of Stoiximan Group, told journalists in Athens it was aiming to become one of the three largest local market companies by mid-2021 and had already established a team of ten employees in Lisbon.
