German State Seeks To Stop Online Gambling Advertising

Saarland has said it is the first German state to obtain a prohibition order against two Schleswig-Holstein online gambling licensees, ordering them to stop advertising in Saarland.

The Saarland State Media Authority (LMS) said this week that it obtained orders to stop two companies it did not name from offering advertising for unlicensed online gambling in the small German state.

The authority, which regulates private media companies, said curbs on advertising online casino outside Schleswig-Holstein were not stopping ads "even at times of day when children and adolescents are particularly vulnerable".
