A German broadcasting trade group, VAUNET, is calling for the removal of many planned restrictions on gambling advertising from the country’s interstate treaty draft, which they say contradict the stated goal of channelling gambling towards licensed offerings.
The media group also argues that a requirement for advertising not to be "excessive" is "not sufficiently precise" and is likely to lead to litigation.
Broadcasters are already subject to social responsibility codes, making extra rules unnecessary, VAUNET argues.
