GAMSTOP Not Ready For Mandatory Roll-Out, Despite Reports

UPDATE: The Gambling Commission has this afternoon issued a statement denying the Guardian report that it is poised to approve GAMSTOP and activate its mandatory usage. Our original story has been edited to reflect this new information.

After months of delays, the UK’s online self-exclusion system is still not ready for the Gambling Commission to enforce it mandatory use by operators, contrary to earlier press reports that it was ready to go.

Reports in the national press over the weekend stated that the Gambling Commission would announce this week that GAMSTOP, which has been in a testing phase since early 2018, is finally fully functional.
