The Gambling Commission’s task of ensuring operators’ compliance with the 2005 Gambling Act may seem an arduous one, but the Commission’s Compliance Process information paper, released in August, will prove a powerful tool for operators who wish to be considered “low-risk” and avoid being subject to the strictest compliance scrutiny.
As the Gambling Commission begins its efforts to secure compliance with the 2005 Gambling Act by licensed operators, the rigour of its enforcement regime has yet to be fully revealed.
The Commission itself acknowledges that it will be dealing with 3000 operators and over 14,000 premises including betting shops, arcades, bingo clubs, casinos and lotteries.
