Ireland’s major political parties have promised to create a new gambling regulator, tackle gambling-related harm and introduce restrictions ahead of the country’s upcoming general election.
Irish general election favourites Fine Gael pledged to “introduce an independent gambling regulator equipped to respond to a rapidly evolving gambling environment” in its manifesto late last week.
Additionally, the party said it will “review the controls that exist in relation to access to, and the behaviour of, gambling apps and websites”.
