Gambling Commission Discussing Self-Exclusion With Banks

As more banks roll out gambling self-exclusion, the UK Gambling Commission confirmed it has been pitching the potential benefits of these schemes for problem gamblers to financial institutions.

“We have been actively talking to financial institutions about the role they could play to protect customers who are struggling with their gambling,” a Gambling Commission spokesperson told GamblingCompliance.

The talks have covered “how giving consumers greater control of the way they use financial products could work alongside the existing protections that we require gambling companies to provide”, said the regulator.
