The Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) decision to sue to block the two largest daily fantasy sports companies from completing their merger has both companies considering suing the federal agency, while some analysts believe the companies need to come together to survive.
Jeff Ifrah, founding member of Ifrah Law in Washington, D.C., said should the merger of DraftKings and FanDuel collapse, their future “really depends on whether the companies can continue doing business on their own without this merger.”
“I think most experts believe the companies need this merger to survive,” Ifrah told GamblingCompliance.
