Florida House Bids To Block Seminole Deal

Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio has filed suit in the state's Supreme Court to prevent Governor Charlie Crist from permitting new slot machines and table games for the Seminole Tribe of Florida without the Legislature's approval.

Nevertheless, Rubio’s suit maintains that the agreement violates the Florida Constitution's separation of powers clause and encroaches on the Legislature's law and policy making authority.
