The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) released sports-betting applications and its first phase of regulations Thursday, the first step towards implementing legislation to allow sports wagering in the state.
The state legalized sports betting as part of its major gaming expansion package signed into law in July, but the regulations released Thursday still leave several issues unresolved as to what the state’s sports-betting market will look like when it ultimately goes live.
