Finnish Study Backs Sweeping Slot Machine Restrictions

A new Finnish slot machine study that will inform the country’s impending legal revamp has suggested more restrictions and responsible gambling tools, including a complete marketing ban for the sector.

The Harm Risks and Harm Assessment Group for the Implementation of Gambling, which is part of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, concluded on Friday that slot machine game features, gambling restrictions and the easy availability of slot machines must all be addressed together to reduce harms.
