The Finnish Prime Minister and the minister of education have given conflicting reviews of the country’s gambling monopoly Veikkaus after the company came under fire for irresponsible advertising.
Prime Minister Antti Rinne has reiterated his belief that currently the gambling monopoly’s benefits to Finnish society still greatly outweigh those of any alternative, such as the online licensing system adopted by neighbouring Sweden at the start of 2019.
However, the Prime Minister said he was open to reviewing Veikkaus’s exclusive rights to the market.
