Finland To Cut Spending Limits During Coronavirus

  • Finland cuts monthly loss limits from €2,000 to €500
  • Consultant says limits will send players offshore
  • Police board to restrict foreign marketing broadcasts

Finland has announced plans to slash loss limits on most forms of gambling, joining neighbouring Sweden in restricting gambling during the global coronavirus pandemic.

As of Friday, loss limits for government-owned Veikkaus will drop from the current €2,000 to €500 per month and maximum daily losses will be lowered from €1,000 to €500, the Ministry of the Interior said by government decree.

The limits will remain until September 30.
