The FBI has executed search warrants in the offices of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Governor Ralph Torres and on subsidiaries and associates of Hong Kong-listed Saipan casino operator Imperial Pacific International Holdings, according to government and company statements.
CNMI Lieutenant Governor Arnold Palacios confirmed reports of Thursday's raids at a media conference in the afternoon.
Palacios said FBI agents were still searching for material in Torres’ office at 3:30pm after executing a search warrant at around 9am, and that Torres met agents as they began their operation.
