Entanglement With Video Gaming May Hinder Missouri Sports-Betting Bill

It may prove too clever by half to pair a Missouri sports-betting bill with controversial video gaming machines that are provoking a public outcry in the Show Me State.

On January 28, a Missouri House committee passed a bill by Republican Representative Dan Shaul that would legalize and regulate not only sports betting but also video lottery terminals.

About a half-dozen sports-betting measures have been floated so far in this year’s legislative session in Jefferson City, the capital of Missouri, but Shaul’s bill is the only one to have so far been mustered out of a committee.
