Dutch Regulator Doubles Fines In 2019

The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) has said it imposed financial penalties of €3.5m in 2019, or more than double the 2018 total.

The KSA said it had issued ten fines last year for operators illicitly offering online gambling to Dutch consumers, to companies including 1xBet, Casumo, Onisac's Casino.com, Simbat, Spinity, Kindred Group, GVC's ElectraWorks, The Stars Group, Royal Panda and LeoVegas.

KSA chairman Rene Jansen cited several reasons for the big increase in penalties, including that the basic fine was increased in March 2019 to €200,000 from an earlier €150,000.
