DraftKings' entrance into the New Jersey sports-betting market and fantasy sports business was temporarily derailed after the company was the victim of a cyberattack that brought down its servers, but no customer data was compromised, a company spokesman has said.
“The attack occurred because defendants initially sent thousands of packets of information or commands to plaintiff’s website with the intent of damaging and negatively impacting plaintiff and its operations,” DraftKings said in a 14-page federal court filing.
