Denmark Unveils Sweeping Player Protection Plans

The Danish tax ministry has introduced draft executive orders on gambling that would tighten player protection requirements, including setting bonus limits and requiring players to set deposit limits before play.

An online gambling licence holder would also be required to “familiarise himself with the player's game patterns and must take measures to prevent the player from developing  problematic gaming behaviour and game addiction”, according to the documents.

The draft orders would require players to set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits before play, and any requests for increases in limits would come with a 24-hour delay.
