The DC Council is set to vote on a new lottery system contract that would include sports betting on Tuesday, following a process that has been mired in controversy.
Critics of the proposed $215m contract negotiated by the DC Lottery with Greece-based vendor Intralot have argued that the deal benefits several politically-connected subcontractors, in addition to pre-existing concerns about granting Intralot, the lottery’s existing vendor, a no-bid contract.
