Cyprus has brought into effect a host of additional requirements and restrictions for integrated casino-resort related marketing, including a daytime prohibition on advertising.
Radio and television advertising is now forbidden between 6am and 11pm. Adverts may also not be broadcast during or immediately after programmes directed at, or of interest to, children.
Online advertising available on websites, social media or search engines may not be “targeted” to anyone under the age of 21.
Ads for casinos must also not appear on websites that “disparage” Cyprus’ reputation, said the regulator.
The new rules are the work of the Cyprus National Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission.
